Bridgeport High School is the first high school to be opened in the dormitory community of Portmore. Located at 1 Gibson Road in Bridgeport, Portmore, St. Catherine, it is ideally located at the corner of Portmore Parkway and Gibson Road. It was founded in September 1978 within the political boundaries of South East St. Catherine and Jamaica’s newest municipality, Portmore.
The school lies on the outskirts of the residential Bridgeport community and is bordered on the right by the main thoroughfare with its entrance and exit on Gibson Road. The main road runs between the school and Portmore Missionary Church and Preparatory School, nearing the northern border of the Edgewater community. To the left of the school and a few meters down the road is the Bridgeport complex, home to the Bridgeport Police Station, Post Office and Health Center.

a year agoThere is a serious communication issue at this institution and it would be best advised that the situation be handled promptly so as to provide some level of convenience, especially for parents/guardians of students of this school. The contact number listed on Google, EVERYTIME I tried calling....I received no response. I went in search for a second number to contact, still no response....and it doesn't matter the time the call is made. WhatsApp?? Whosoever is managing that account will read the message(s) and respond even a week to 2 weeks later on their own time. Emails? Same...1 week response time. If it is that you have a query, urgent or otherwise...or need some answers for questions, unfortunately the only suitable thing to do is to make a visit to the school. How inconvenient is that especially if you reside or work outside of St. Catherine. Please fix this issue, it's quite annoying, time consuming and inconvenient.

2 years agoFor me some things stick out, as a parent that leave’s overseas time is very serious now your child isn’t allow to bring a phone to school at least let them take and turn it off during class or hand it in to the form teacher at school secondly you call the school to find out if your child is there they are going say that you have to call back in an hour because they going to send someone to the class to find out if the student is there do you know how many things can happen within an hour? the persons working in the office should be able to connect with the form teacher to see if that child is present in class simple things like these needs fixing and These are FACTS

6 years agoDecent school, however, leadership needs a bit of work. Despite this not the worse management of Portmore. But I would advise being wary of the unruliness of the students.

3 years agoBridgeport is an amazing school they have amazing teacher who are very well mannered an she school is very beautiful not only that but the way in which they teach is excellent
