The Portmore Community College (PCC) was established in 1992 in the sunshine municipality of Portmore. From a vision and fuelled by the unswerving determination of a committed staff, the college now operates two campuses; Portmore Campus and Old Harbour Campus with over 2400 students.
PCC continues its mandate to provide high-quality post-secondary and tertiary education to Jamaicans. Embodied in our mission statement is the mandate:
“To build the human capital of the communities we serve by providing diverse pathways to quality higher education and learning, enhance proficiency, and professionalism …. Our shared vision is that …By 2020 PCC will be recognized as a viable option for quality post-secondary education… as we continue to provide our students with affordable, high-quality education and training.
The college offers experiential learning opportunities through hands-on academic experiences, work experience practicum, several co-curricular activities and flexible learning schedules. Portmore Community College is committed to ensuring that our graduates exit the college as work-ready citizens who can contribute to nation-building.
We have two campuses; our main Campus is located in the “sunshine city” of Portmore and we also have a campus in the very vibrant town of Old Harbour. We offer various Bachelor’s Degrees, Associate Degrees, and Certificate Programmes. Here you will have a wonderful all-round college experience, as we try to provide students with a balance between academics and extracurricular activities.

2 months agoThe Lecturers are great thus far. The tuition is very reasonable and they have a very flexible payment plan system so everyone can benefit. The Downside to the school, it is very unorganized, and things are not done according to the listed schedule they provide. The ISIMS does not reflect anything real time so you either have to call or visit the school especial for registration which is time consuming. Preferrable visit the school because when some departments are contacted the information is either miniscule or unclear. The classrooms are very hot with limited fans. I would still recommend based on the Lecturers, course structure provided and flexibility of payment plan.

2 years agoAffordable, innovative and one of the best Computer Departments. Otherwise from need of improved communication between she school and students,I would recommend studying at this institution for students leaving high school to more mature persons.

6 years agoI never heard of a an institution that degrades their students so much. Some of the lecturers would stare you in the face and belittle you and that is not a healthy learning environment no matter what the case is.This school is desperately in need of a P.A system as well, you wouldn't be aware of whats going on unless a flyer blows off one of the notice boards and hits you in the face.
